Indian golfers Anirban Lahiri and Udayan Mane made the most of the limited opportunities on the second day of the men’s golf event at the Tokyo Olympics as poor weather conditions suspended play on Friday.

Anirban Lahiri, who resumed his competition on a tied-eighth position at the Kasumigaseki Country Club, was on a par score by the 16th green when play was called off.

Udayan Mane, however, completed his second round and put up a better show than in the opening round to climb to a tied-57 spot on the provisional leaderboard. He was last in the standings after Thursday’s round.

Xander Schauffele of the USA led the pack with a combined score of 11-under 131 while Mexico’s Carlos Ortiz was second with a card of 10-under 132 after two rounds.

Anirban Lahiri, competing at his second Summer Games, carded two birdies and two bogeys by the 16th green, and was on par score before play was halted. He and 15 other golfers will resume their second round on Saturday at 4:15 AM IST before starting the third round at about 6:00 AM IST.

The 30-year-old Udayan Mane, meanwhile, carded two-under 69 in the second round with three birdies and two bogeys to gain positions.
