Tokyo 2020 launches new FanZone experience
Fans will be able to take part in four fun new games to connect with the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and each other globally.
Are you ready to get involved and cheer on your favourite athletes and teams at Tokyo 2020 from the comfort of your own home? Do you fancy yourself as an Olympic Games expert?
If so, check out the brand-new Tokyo 2020 FanZone, an interactive area for fans to experience the Games and engage with each other leading up to as well as throughout the Olympics.
FanZone will comprise of four fun areas for fans: Trivia, Magic Moments, Fantasy and Bracket Challenge, with the first two now available for fans to play. The FanZone experience is supported by members of the Olympic Partner Programme: Panasonic, Swatch/Omega and Bridgestone who are furnishing prizing for participants and winners.
The International Olympic Committee's Director of Digital Engagement Christopher Carroll said: "The Tokyo 2020 FanZone will bring the Olympic experience to life and connect global communities around the world – and during these unprecedented times, people need this connection more than ever.
"The FanZone serves as an important element of our digital efforts for fans to feel they are part of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. This platform attempts to ignite their competitive spirit and bring us all closer together."

In Trivia, fans can take part in competitions which will occur either bi-weekly or in "live" trivia every two days for 17 total contests. These events will test fans on their Olympic Games knowledge as well as what users know about athletes.
Meanwhile, in Magic Moments, fans can re-live highlights from past Olympic Games while voting on their most memorable highlights according to different themes.
The other two areas, Fantasy and Bracket Challenge, will be activated during the Olympic Games when competitions begin in July.
These games will mirror other fantasy sports experiences, but in a new Olympic Games setting. In Fantasy, fans will create a team of 10 athletes from individual sports and score points for their performances. Users will also be able to start a league with their friends or join existing public leagues.
Bracket Challenge will allow fans to pick a perfect bracket in team sports, similar to the popular annual NCAA Basketball March Madness bracket game in the United States. Users will compete with other fans globally and can also start a league against their friends.

If that isn't exciting enough, eligible participants* of the games stand a chance to win prizes in a prize draw.
