The latest champions of the US Open singles tournament have been crowned.

Jannik Sinner beat Taylor Fritz in three straight sets to become the men's singles winner (6-3, 6-4, 7-5), while Aryna Sabalenka got the better of Jessica Pegula in a breathless two-set win to become the women's singles victor (5-7, 5-7).

It is the first time either of the newly-crowned champions added this title to their repertoire, joining an elite few to have won it.
