Tatyana McFadden thanks US figure skating team for helping hand
U.S. figure team assisted in transporting new racing frame for the seven-time Paralympic champion from Japan
Tatyana McFadden loves a good challenge.
The seven-time Paralympic champion has successfully overcome many of them in her stellar career which has also seen her win 13 world championship titles in the T54 category.
The 32-year old American is also no stranger to being creative when it comes to coming up with a solution in difficult circumstances.
McFadden needed to have her new carbon racing frame be brought from Japan to the US for her Tokyo 2020 mission.
Enter the US figure skating stars who finished second behind the Russian Figure Skating Federation team in the World Team Trophy in Osaka last week.
Three-time world champion Nathan Chen, Jason Brown, Bradie Tennell, Karen Chen and co. lent a helping hand.
"When we say we are one team we really are one team. Thanks to the @USFigureSkating team for helping to bring back my new carbon racing frame from Tokyo to the USA for the @Tokyo2020 games," McFadden posted on social media.
"International shipping has been tough during this time but you all made it happen."
Talk about #stronger together in times like these.
McFadden's ambitious schedule for Tokyo
McFadden, who debuted at the 2004 Paralympics aged just 15, has big plans for the Tokyo Games in a bid to add to her Paralympic medal tally of 17.
She wants to medal in all six individual races from the 100m through the marathon something that she did accomplish at Rio 2016.
This time McFadden wants to get the marathon gold that slipped through her fingers in Rio when she had to settle for silver in a photo finish.
If she wins five more medals, of any colour, she will become the most decorated female Paralympian in athletics.
"It's gruelling hours but I'm excited because that's what I love to do so it's going to be a good challenge," said Mc Fadden to Tokyo2020.org.
