It’s set to be an exciting contest in the men’s 100m butterfly final as American star Caeleb Dressel goes up against Hungary’s Kristof Milak at the Tokyo Olympics on Saturday, July 31.
Kristof Milak - who won the 200m butterfly gold at Tokyo 2020 - had set a new Olympic record of 50.31 seconds to win the first semi-final of the 100m butterfly.
However, just a few minutes later in the second semis, Caeleb Dressel swam an even faster 49.71 seconds to set a new Olympic record of his own.
Caeleb Dressel has also already won gold at Tokyo 2020 in the 100m freestyle and it will be too close to call the final.
World Championships silver-medallist Andrei Minakov of ROC, Swiss youngster Noe Ponti and teenager Josif Miladinov of Bulgaria will be among the other competitors in the final.
