Triple Olympic gold medallist Kaylee McKeown has experienced a weekend to remember.

At the third and final swimming World Cup event in Budapest, Hungary, the 22-year-old Australian first broke the women’s 50-meter backstroke world record by 0.12 seconds with a time of 26.86 seconds on Friday.

The previous record of 26.98 belonged to Liu Xiang of the People Republic of China, a time set at the 2018 Asian Games.

Less than 24 hours later, McKeown beat her own world record by 0.12 seconds in the women’s 100-meter backstroke on Saturday, in a winning time of 57.33 seconds, blowing away the rest of the field by almost two seconds.

McKeown is first swimmer to simultaneously hold the 50m, 100m, and 200m backstroke world records, according to CNN.

The Australian has already secured the overall World Cup "triple crowns" titles in the 50m and 100m backstroke. She can complete a hat-trick of triple crowns - and perhaps a hat-trick of new world records when she competes in the 200m backstroke on Sunday.
