Fancy running in the footsteps of one of the greatest female sprinters of all time?

Just head down to the Ashoka Road in downtown Kingston, which is set to be renamed Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Drive.

The admiration for the three-time Olympic champion continues in her native Jamaica, with the approval on Tuesday 8, October, by Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation, KSMAC, to rename the street in Waterhouse to celebrate one of the sport’s greats.

That’s the street where the Jamaican star was born and raised.

Councillor Byron Clarke commended Fraser-Pryce as an exemplary role model, lauding her commitment to uplift the Waterhouse community and her broader contributions through the Pocket Rocket Foundation.

This is just one in a list of honours set to be conferred to the legendary female sensation, who has won more gold and silver than any other sprinter in her signature women's 100m, and also claimed titles and medals in the 200m and relay events.

The 37-year-old, who is a 10-time world champion, will also be presented with the Keys to the City of Kingston in her homeland.

The Keys to Kingston is said to be the highest honour that can be bestowed by the KSMAC.
