India’s campaign at the Squash World Cup 2023 ended in the semi-finals after losing to Malaysia 3-0 on Friday at the Express Avenue Mall in Chennai. It was the fourth edition of the team championship which made a return to the international squash calendar after 12 years.
Eight teams - hosts India, Australia, Colombia, Egypt, Hong Kong China, Japan, Malaysia and South Africa - competed for the title at Chennai. Egypt, the defending champions, having won the title in 2011, will face Malaysia in the final on Sunday.
The Squash World Cup 2023 was conducted in two phases - the first group stage and the second knockout/classification stage.
For the group stage, the teams were divided into two pools of four teams each.
