India will be one of the eight nations from four different continents participating in the Squash World Cup 2023, which will be held from June 13 to 17 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The fourth edition of the Squash World Cup will be held at the Express Avenue Mall in Chennai. The Chennai meet will see the return of the Squash World Cup after 12 years.
All matches will be live streamed in India.
Besides India, the other nations competing in the five-day squash meet are Australia, Colombia, Egypt, Hong Kong China, Japan, Malaysia and South Africa.
The eight teams have been divided into two pools of four teams each.

Pool A: Egypt, Australia, Malaysia and Colombia
Pool B: India, Japan, South Africa and Hong Kong China
In the group stage, each team will play three single-legged round-robin ties. The top two teams from each group will progress to the semi-finals schedule on June 16. The remaining teams will play in the classification matches to decide their finishing positions between fifth to eighth. The final will be played on June 17.
India will play their opening pool tie of the Squash World Cup 2023 against Hong Kong China on Tuesday at 6:00 PM IST.
The 2014 Asian Games medal winners Joshna Chinappa and Saurav Ghosal will spearhead the Indian challenge. Tanvi Khanna and Abhay Singh are also part of the Indian team. A total of 32 players will battle it out in the Squash World Cup 2023.
The inaugural edition of the Squash World Cup was played in 1996 in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, and featured 16 teams. Australia won the title.
England emerged champions in the second edition in 1999, played in Hertogenbosch, Netherlands. The last Squash World Cup was held in 2011 in Chennai, where Egypt emerged as champions.
