Simone Biles and Gabby Thomas were on hand to surprise Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever back in August.

The Team USA Olympic champions, who picked up a combined six gold medals at Paris 2024, paid a visit to the Fever dressing room after their 84-80 regular season win against Connecticut Sun.

Thomas, who won three track athletics medals including the women’s 200m title in Paris, has now revealed how the surprise encounter with basketball star Clark came about.

The sprinter said via NBC, "We were hiding next to their locker room and waiting for them to run out. The entire team was floored and Caitlin was so shocked. It's so fun to see the support and excitement that athletes have for one another.”

Meanwhile, artistic gymnastics legend Biles was all smiles attending her first WNBA match off the back of her Paris success, where she won three golds and a silver.

She said on X after the encounter in August, “EVERYONE WATCHES WOMEN’S SPORTS. So happy to be able to go support! my first of many WNBA games.”

Clark and the Indiana Fever went on to reach the WNBA playoffs for the first time in six years, as the star guard went on to win the WNBA Rookie of the Year award.
