European shooting championships: Olympic-bound Indians to test their mettle - full schedule

Indian shooters will begin their final phase of preparations for the Tokyo Olympics with the European Championships that get underway this weekend in Osijek, Croatia.

Participating in the continental event as a ‘special invitee team’, the Indian shooters will compete in the qualification rounds of their respective categories and will not be eligible for the finals, should they qualify.

Thirteen of the 15-member Tokyo-bound Indian shooting team are in the Croatian capital Zagreb for the European Championships.

Only skeet shooters Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Angad Singh Bajwa are training in Italy.

Given the pandemic situation in India, the national shooting team had to shift its base from New Delhi to Croatia for two months, a period that will see them compete in an ISSF World Cup (June 22-July 3) after the European championships. Both the events will be held in Osijek.

However, only the finals of each event will be streamed live.
