Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce launches her bid for a record sixth World women's 100m title, with her return to the athletics track in her homeland this week.
The sprint legend is competing at the 2023 Jamaican National Championships from 6-9 July at the National Stadium in Kingston.
She's keen to make amends after being forced to push the start of her season due to a knee injury, with the 2023 World Athletics Championships fast approaching.
The event is key for Jamaican athletes to seal their spots on the national team for the Budapest showpiece in August, although as the reigning women's 100m world champion, Fraser-Pryce, and the Diamond League champion, she will be offered a wildcard to compete at the Worlds.

Fraser-Pryce picked up an injury last May in Kenya, where she was due to open her season at the World Continental Tour, and was forced to go 'back to the drawing board'.
She’s back training and upbeat ahead of her season debut.
"I really just trust that God will always work things out… You do the work, and you just get on the track, and you know you have a good team. Coaches are prepared, we're prepared," she said in a recent interview with Black Enterprise.
Her first 100m race in Kingston will be on Friday (7 July), ahead of the finals the following day.
The three-time Olympic champion hasn’t raced since September 8, 2022, in Zurich, when she won her fifth Diamond League Trophy.
Fraser-Pryce has also won world titles and Olympic medals at the 200m distance, but announced earlier in the season that she would be focusing on the 100m.
