Three-time Olympic champion Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce will race her first 100m sprint of the 2023 season on Thursday, 20 July, at the Spitzen Leichtathletik Luzern event, a World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Meeting in Switzerland.

The 10-time world champion, who raced for the first time in 2023 in a 200m at the Jamaican National Championships on July 9 in Kingston, where Shericka Jackson claimed a sprint double, opted to make her shorter sprint debut in Switzerland, instead of the Meeting de Atletismo Madrid in Spain on 22 July, which had been her previous plan.

Fraser-Pryce is the undoubted pick for women’s 100 at the track at the Stadion Allmend, where she will line-up against the Swiss record holder Mujinga Kambundji.
