World sprint queen Sha’Carri Richardson is back in action on Sunday (3 September), just three days after winning at the Zurich Diamond League on Thursday and barely two weeks after her World Championships triumph.
The 23-year-old world 100m champion, who ran a Championships record 10.65 to clinch the world title before her Zurich triumph in 10.88, will compete at the 2023 Meeting Città di Padova in Padua, Italy.
That event is a World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze event, the fourth tier of the regular circuit below the Diamond League, Continental Tour Gold, and Continental Tour Silver.
Her teammate Twanisha Terry and Jamaica's Briana Williams will be among her challengers in Italy.
Other World Championships medallists expected to compete in Padova include long jumper Tajay Gayle of Jamaica and American shot putter Joe Kovacs.
The women's 100m is scheduled for 7:30pm local time (1:30pm Eastern time, 10:30am Pacific time).
