Pyeongchang 2018 House in Rio previews Winter Games
Visitors to Rio de Janeiro’s famed Copacabana Beach will soon have an opportunity to experience Korean food, culture and music — and try their hand at ski jumping — during the Olympic Games Rio 2016.
PyeongChang House, a 50x8-metre kiosk on one of Brazil’s most popular beaches, will be open to guests from 6 to 21 August to provide a sneak peek look ahead of the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang
Using the latest information and communications technologies, the PyeongChang House will create a unique environment where visitors can learn about Olympic winter sports and experience ski jumping with help from a four dimensional virtual reality simulator. The house will also offer unique exhibits and performances highlighting the culture and traditions of the Winter Games’ host country. Guests will have a chance to sample Korean delicacies at tasting stations; enjoy K-POP and classical Korean music; and see high-energy break-dancers in action.
In addition to the beachfront kiosk, a mobile PyeongChang House will bring a taste of Korea and the Olympic Winter Games to popular sites elsewhere in Brazil and other South American countries.
