Pole vault star Armand 'Mondo' Duplantis' banner year continues.

On Friday (11 October), Vogue Scandinavia announced that the 24-year-old is engaged to longtime girlfriend Desiré Inglander. Duplantis popped the question in an elaborate event in the Hamptons, according to the magazine.

The engagement comes after a season that saw Duplantis win gold at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, as he continued to raise his world record.

“This is way more nerve-wracking [than competing],” said Duplantis, who also owns the Tokyo 2020 gold medal. He says he decided to propose on his flight home from the Paris Olympics. “The second after the Olympics was done, I was ready to do it.”

“I’m still shocked,” said Inglander, a Swedish model and content creator. “I’m such a control freak, it’s impossible to surprise me.”
