Paris Diamond League 2023: How to watch Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Noah Lyles, and Marcell Jacobs in live action at the Meeting de Paris
Lyles and Jacobs The American world champions will compete in the Meeting de Paris on Friday June 9, as part of their build-up for the 2023 World Championships in Budapest.
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, Noah Lyles, and Marcell Jacobs are among the stars set to light up the Stade Charlety the setting for the Diamond League athletics 2023 Meeting de Paris on Friday 9 June.
It will be the first time the women's 400m hurdles Olympic and world record holder McLaughlin-Levrone will race at the Charlety track, in what will also be her outdoor race debut this season. She’s only raced once this season - a heat in the 60m at the World Athletics Tour in Boston in February.
In the French capital, McLaughlin-Levrone is going back to the 400m flat - a race she hasn't run at the top level in nearly five years.
Fellow American, Lyles, the double world gold medallist is no stranger to the Paris track.
He dashed to 19.65 when he won the men's 200m in 2019, that still ranks among his all-time top 10 personal bests.
He’s fresh from winning the 200m at the Racers Grand Prix in Kingston last Saturday and he is keen to test himself more over the shorter sprint.
Paris will be his fifth 100m run this season-after victory at the Tom Jones Memorial meeting in Gainesville - and finishing second a week later in Clermont behind high school sprinter Issam Asinga.
Lyles is set to face the Olympic champion Marcell Jacobs of Italy, who pulled out of the Rabat Diamond League meeting in May citing a back injury.
Lyles and Jacobs will be up against Kenya’s current world leader Commonwealth Games gold medallist Ferdinand Omanyala, 2011 world champion Jamaican Yohan Blake and Botswana’s phenom Letsile Tebogo.
The women's 5,000m in Paris is another event to watch, with Faith Kipyegon back on the track a week after breaking the 1500m world record. She's one of four world record holders in the field, along with Letesenbet Gidey, Beatrice Chepkoech, and Ejgayehu Taye.
