Teenage sprinters Calab Law and Georgia Harris led the way for Australia in the 100m finals at the 2023 Pacific Games in Honiara, Solomon Islands, on Tuesday (28 November).

The pair of 19-year-old track athletes shone on Tuesday night as Australia swept the able-bodied 100m events, with Lachlan Kennedy also earning silver in the men's race.

Law, one of Australia's Indigenous athletes in the Pacific Games team who has spoken about being inspired by Cathy Freeman, won the men's final in 10.40 seconds, just shy of his 10.39 season's best mark he set back in March.

Kennedy, who had qualified as the top semi-finalist, was just behind his teammate, crossing the line in 10.49 seconds with Samoa's Johnny Key third.

Harris won the women's final in 11.70, having also topped the timesheets in both the heats and semi-final.

The sprinter, who has also represented Australia in the 200m at the World under-20 Athletics Championships, was 0.16 seconds ahead of Papua New Guinea's Isila Apkup, with Guam's Regine Tugade-Watson claiming bronze.
