Two of the last three women to claim Olympic gymnastics all-around titles will compete at the 2024 Winter Cup in Louisville, Kentucky.

USA Gymnastics announced late Monday (12 February) that Suni Lee, the Tokyo 2020 winner, has been added to the roster. London 2012 all-around gold medallist Gabby Douglas stated last week that she will also participate, her first competition since the Rio 2016 Games.

Lee hasn't competed since withdrawing from last September's U.S. World team selection event as she dealt with the effects of a kidney-related health issue that she told Olympics.com meant some days she could wake up with hands so swollen she couldn't put her uneven bars grips on.

But, the 20-year-old took part in a recent U.S. training camp where she looked solid as ever on the balance beam. She also worked the second half of her uneven bars routine in the practice open to media.

It was her first camp appearance since missing the World trials.

"She's a great example of like a 'super senior'," said USA Gymnastics women's high performance strategic lead Alicia Sacramone, a 2008 Olympian. "She knows what she's doing. It's like riding a bike. Once you get back and you get in the swing of it, she'll be fine. It's just getting her physically back to where she wants to be."

Competition in Louisville is scheduled for 24 February.
