The 75th season of the National Basketball Association (NBA), will begin early Thursday morning in India with defending champions Milwaukee Bucks playing hosts to the Brooklyn Nets.

Tokyo 2020 gold-medallists Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday form the nucleus of the Milwaukee Bucks but the champions have lost PJ Tucker to the Miami Heat.
Incidentally, their Eastern Conference opponents on opening night, Brooklyn Nets, will be one of their main rivals for the crown this time around.
The Brooklyn Nets made it to the playoffs last season and were looking like favourites before losing Kyrie Irving and James Harden to injury at different stages.
The Nets’ big three - Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving - won’t be starting the season together after Irving refused to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
In the Western Conference, usual suspects Los Angeles Lakers will be one of the teams to watch out for yet again. Already boasting of LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Lakers have added Russell Westbrook to their roster.
The Phoenix Suns, finalists from last season, will be strong contenders with Chris Paul and Devin Booker, and so will be the Los Angeles Clippers, boasting the likes of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
Superstars like Luka Doncic (Dallas Mavericks), Nikola Jokic (Denver Nuggets), Ja Morant (Memphis Grizzlies), Donovan Mitchell (Utah Jazz) and Damian Lillard (Portland Trailblazers) will also look to carry their teams to the playoffs.
