Mondo Duplantis continued his astonishing year with victory in the Zurich Diamond League Weltklasse on Thursday (5 September).

Showing no signs of fatigue following his exhibition 100m victory over Karsten Warholm yesterday, the Swedish Olympic champion began his evening at a wet Letzigrund Stadium with an easy clearance of 5.62m.

After skipping the next round, Duplantis went straight back to the top of the leaderboard after clearing 5.82m.

The only other athlete to clear the same height was two-time world champion and Paris 2024 silver medallist Sam Kendricks.

However, after both failing at 6.02m, Duplantis was awarded the title on count back as he had not failed until that point unlike his U.S. rival.

Australia's Kurtis Marschall completed the podium in third, while London 2012 Olympic champion Renaud Lavillenie finished tied in seventh place.
