Live streaming, Men's Hockey Junior Asia Cup 2024: India aim for hattrick of titles - full schedule, where to watch 

The Indian men’s hockey team, with two-time Olympic medallist PR Sreejesh as the head coach, will look to defend its continental title at the Men's Hockey Junior Asia Cup 2024 starting in Muscat, Oman from Tuesday.

All matches in the 11th edition of the under-21 hockey tournament will be available on live streaming in India.

Defender Amir Ali will captain the 20-member Indian hockey team with fellow defender Rohit as his deputy.

Amir Ali recently played for the Indian men’s hockey team at the Asian Champions Trophy in the People’s Republic of China and helped India retain their title.

Ali was also captain of the Indian hockey team that won the bronze medal at the Sultan of Johor Cup last month. Forward Gurjot Singh, part of the senior Indian team at the Asian Champions Trophy, is also in the squad.

India will be one of the 10 teams competing at the junior Asia Cup. The defending champions are in Pool A with Chinese Taipei, Japan, Republic of Korea and Thailand.

Pool B comprises three-time champions Pakistan, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Oman and the People’s Republic of China.

Led by Uttam Singh, India defended their title last year by defeating arch-rivals Pakistan 2-1 in the final.

India are also the most successful team in the competition with four titles (2004, 2008, 2015 and 2023). Pakistan are the second-most successful team with three titles (1987, 1992 and 1996).

India will open their junior Asia Cup hockey campaign against Thailand on Wednesday and play Japan on the following day. India will take on Chinese Taipei on November 30 before concluding the group stage with a match against South Korea on December 1.

The top two teams from each pool will qualify for the semi-finals while the rest will play classification matches. The semi-finals will be played on December 3. The third-place match and the final will be held on December 4.

The Men's Hockey Junior Asia Cup 2024 will be a qualifying event for next year’s FIH Hockey Junior World Cup 2025 in India. The top six Junior Asia Cup 2024 teams will qualify for the World Cup.

However, since India have already qualified for the Junior World Cup by being the hosts, should they finish among the top six, the seventh-placed team will also earn a berth in the Junior World Cup.
