Coach 1: Fabian Broich

Why do you do what you do?

“My keys in life are sports and people, hence being a sport psychologist brings me a lot of joy and motivates me. These young people don't have awareness of things outside of playing the game like what they actually needed in order to be a healthy and happy human being. I want to show the community and the younger generation how important it is to have a healthy lifestyle, as well as that when you have a goal to go for it and succeed. I think it’s really important no matter where you start, if you want to be successful you have to be confident and stand for what you believe in. I was a professional competitive athlete, although I’m no longer competing, I still want to create the best performance environment in Esports in the world.”

Fabian Broich is the founder of Achieveminds, an Esports performance agency. He is currently working with some of the best players and teams in the world in Esports. Previously he was the Head of Performance at Excel Esports. The British Esports organisation Excel competes amongst the best Esports teams in the world. Previously, the former professional football goalkeeper, worked for pro football club Schalke 04 and for Astralis, which is one of the most successful Esports organizations in the world. He has a B.A. in Psychology (Winthrop University, US) and a M.Sc. in Psychology of Sports and Exercise (German Sports University of Cologne, GER) The 32-year-old German focuses on a holistic performance approach integrating sleep, physical activity, nutrition and sports psychology into the new field of Esports.

Coach 2: Mia Stellberg

What led you to this work?

“I entered the world of gaming out of interest. I wanted to explore how we can combine psychology and gaming. Gaming is a global phenomenon that reaches almost everyone in some shape or form. As a psychologist I have found a platform where I can impact well-being, perceptions and diversity. The audience that comes through that community is vast. It is truly a meaningful work that hopefully increases awareness and well-being in that space.”

Mia has become a legend in pro gaming for her pioneering work as a psychologist and the many titles she has helped teams win. Among her achievements, winning the Major with Astralis CS:GO team, and famously helped Dota 2 Team OG become the first-ever repeat TI champions. She has also coached teams to reach titles in League of legends and mobile games. As well as working in gaming she also works with many Olympians and pro sports people. A graduate of the University of Helsinki, she lives in Finland.
