Marco Odermatt made it two Alpine Ski World Cup Super G wins in the space of 24 hours at Cortina d'Ampezzo on Sunday (29 January).
And the Swiss all but clinched the series title as nearest rival Aleksander Aamodt Kilde missed a gate on the Delta turn on the top half of the course.
Home favourite Dominik Paris (+0.76) was second ahead of Austria's Daniel Hemetsberger (+1.03) with 33-year-old German Andreas Sander (+1.07) equalling his career-best World Cup finish in fourth.
Vincent Kriechmayr was faster than anyone at the top of the descent, but a mistake on the Delta turn cost him valuable time as he ended up in fifth.
Odermatt took the bravest of lines on that left-hand Delta turn, just making the next gate. And despite still recovering from a knee injury sustained a week ago at Kitzbühel, he skied superbly the rest of the way down to win by over three-quarters of a second.
The 25-year-old's fourth Super G victory - the 19th World Cup win of his career - extended his lead over Kilde to 148 points with just two races remaining.
Odermatt also strengthened his grip on the overall World Cup title, taking a handy advantage of 313 points over his Norwegian rival into the World Championship break.
