The ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals 2023 in Durban reached the business end of the prestigious tournament where the best paddlers battle it out in singles and doubles events.

The People’s Republic of China looks set to assert their dominance at the championships with an eye on winning all five gold medals on offer – the men's and women's singles, men's and women's doubles, and mixed doubles.

The field has been whittled down following nearly a week of action involving more than 600 athletes from across the globe.

Chinese players or pairs have won 11 of the last 12 men's singles, 21 of the last 22 women's singles, 13 of the last 15 men's doubles, 21 of the last 22 women's doubles, and 18 of the last 22 mixed doubles world titles.
