Where is the ISSF World Championships 2023 taking place?

The 2023 ISSF World Championships for all shooting events are taking place in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

The shooting range of the Baku Olympic Shooting Range is the venue, which was newly built for the Baku 2015 European Games.

Rifle/pistol events take place at a 50m range, 25m range, 10m hall, and Finals hall, which was also used for a Rifle/Pistol World Cup competition earlier in the 2023 ISSF World Cup season.

There is an outdoor shotgun range which hosts both trap and skeet events.

A full schedule is below, including information on the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifier finals.

Those quota places are awarded to National Olympic Committees (NOC) rather than the specific athlete. This is in addition to a number of Paris 2024 qualifying berths that have already been won, at 2022 World Championship and continental qualifier events. An athlete can only secure one quota for their NOC. If quota place is achieved by an athlete who has already obtained a quota place at any previous designated ISSF Championship in any individual event, the quota place must be granted to the next highest placed athlete. A quota can only be obtained in a Final. Qualification stage results will not be considered. NOC's can enter a maximum of two athletes in each of the individual events at Paris 2024. Full details of the Olympic qualification system for shooting can be found here.

The results from these ISSF World Championship competitions will also go towards a shooter's Qualification Ranking for the Olympic Games (QROG) for the 2024 Games, which could also impact the selection process for team events at Paris 2024. The qualifying period ends on 9 June 2024.
