IPL 2024 final, live streaming: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Sunrisers Hyderabad - where to watch

Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad will clash in the Indian Premier League 2024 final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday. The KKR vs SRH IPL 2024 final starts at 7:30 PM IST and will be live streamed and live telecast in India.

Both T20 cricket teams are former IPL champions. KKR won the trophy under Gautam Gambhir in 2012 and 2014 before finishing runners-up in 2021, losing to CSK. Gambhir, interestingly, is the mentor of the current KKR unit, captained by Shreyas Iyer.

SRH, meanwhile, lifted the trophy once in 2016. The Hyderabad team also made the 2018 final but were bested by CSK again.

On the road to the IPL final, KKR topped the league stage points table followed by SRH. The Knights then beat SRH comfortably in the first Qualifier to make the final, forcing Sunrisers to take the long route to the finale.

The Pat Cummins-led Hyderabad team successfully fended off the challenge from Rajasthan Royals to book a rematch with KKR, this time for the title.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have easily been the most lethal batting unit in this season of the IPL, led by heavy hitters like Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen and the young Abhishek Verma.

Kolkata Knight Riders, meanwhile, have been a more well-rounded team this season, primarily fronted by sensational all-round displays by Sunil Narine. The likes of Varun Chakaravarthy and Harshit Rana have also shone with the ball while Shreyas and Venkatesh Iyer have done well with the bat.

Andre Russell, as usual, has also been a lynchpin for the Shahrukh Khan-owned franchise.

KKR vs SRH Head-to-head record

The head-to-head record between the two teams almost exclusively favour the Knights, who have won 18 of the 27 meetings in the IPL so far while SRH have been victorious on nine occasions.

The two sides did play out a tie back in 2020 but Kolkata won the one-over eliminator.

KKR are also undefeated against SRH so far this season, having won both their encounters. In the league stage, KKR won a high-scoring affair at the Eden Gardens by four runs before trouncing SRH by eight wickets in Qualifier 1 played at Ahmedabad last week.

Hyderabad’s last victory over Kolkata was on April 2023, when a Harry Brook century at the Eden Gardens helped SRH to a 23-run victory.
