India’s Sanjeev Rajput and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar will shoot in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday.
It will be a third Olympics appearance for veteran Indian shooter Sanjeev Rajput after Beijing 2008 and London 2012. He was unable to make the final in either of those Games.
For 20-year-old Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, this will be his Olympics debut. The promising youngster is currently ranked world No. 2 in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions.

Also in the 50-shooter strong field at the Asaka Shooting Range will be world No. 1 Istvan Peni of Hungary. He finished fifth in the men’s 10m air rifle final and seventh in the 10m air rifle mixed team final.
Rio 2016 silver-medallist Sergey Kamenskiy of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) will be looking to go one better this time. He has already won bronze at the Tokyo Olympics in the 10m air rifle mixed team with Yulia Karimova.
