The Indian Premier League 2024 began at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on March 22. The Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings took on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL opener.
The BCCI initially released a list of 21 matches from March 22 to April 7. The remainder of the schedule was announced on March 25.
IPL 2024 schedule
Ahead of the season, the Bengaluru franchise rechristened itself as Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
As per the fixtures, three teams will play their home matches at two different venues.
Delhi Capitals will start the season with Visakhapatnam as their home venue before moving to Delhi. Rajasthan Royals will kick off their season in Jaipur before moving to Guwahati for their final two home games. Punjab Kings, meanwhile, will shift home base from Mohali to Dharamshala for their last two league matches.
The IPL playoffs will be played in Ahmedabad and Chennai. The Narendra Modi Stadium will host Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator.
Qualifier 2 and the IPL 2024 final, to be played on May 26, will be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
