India’s Aditi Ashok fell short of making the cut for the weekend at the Scottish Open golf tournament, an event co-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET) and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA).

Aditi was competing in her first event post the Tokyo Olympics, where she came close to winning a medal. Aditi’s ranking jumped from 200 to 154 following Tokyo 2020.

The Indian golfer’s form didn’t carry at the Dumbarnie Golf Links. The 23-year-old Aditi carded an 11-over 155 (77, 78) to finish tied-132 on Friday, well short of the halfway mark of two-over 146.

The two-time Major winner, Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand, led the pack at the halfway stage by three shots. The 25-year-old Jutanugarn has a combined score of nine-under 135 (69, 66).

Aditi Ashok carded an opening round of five-over 77. Then, three bogeys on the front nine and another four on the return in the second round on Friday derailed her charge at the Scottish Open.

Meanwhile, the other Indian in the competition, Tvesa Malik, carded an even-par score in the second round to make the cut. Tvesa is placed tied-45th.

A one-over 73 in the opening round had put the 25-year-old Tvesa Malik in good stead at what has been a low scoring event. She has a total score of one-over 145 (73, 72).

Tvesa finished tied-second at the Gant Ladies Open last month.
