Promising Indian basketball sensation Princepal Singh's stock keeps on rising. The 20-year-old hoopster recently became only the third Indian to play the G-League, NBA's official minor league basketball organization.

Now, he has gone on to score his first points in the G-League, while playing for the NBA's developmental team Ignite on Friday. Though Ignite lost to Salt Lake City Stars 107-87, Princepal Singh featured for three minutes and 51 seconds and managed to score 5 points.

He scored his first points in the fourth quarter of the game with a dunk and followed it up with a three-pointer attempt which he converted.

19-year-old American hot prospect Jalen Green top-scored for Ignite with 24 points on what was ultimately a disappointing night.

Ignite's another standout talent in Isaiah Todd managed to score only seven points while Jonathan Kuminga and Daishen Nix managed to score 10 and 8 points respectively.

Princepal was only playing his second G-League game on Friday after featuring in Ignite's 127-87 loss to Erie Bayhawks on February 18. In doing so, he emulated his compatriots Satnam Singh - who played in the G-League for Texas Legends from 2015-17 - and Amjyot Singh – who turned out for Oklahoma City Blue and Wisconsin Herd.

Ignite currently have a 6-4 record in their pool.

Firozpur-born Princepal is eligible to feature in the 2021 NBA Draft and the 6'10" tall player is hopeful of playing in the NBA in the future. In fact, his coach at Ignite Brain Shaw recently remarked that Princepal was the side's most improved player in training.

Princepal is a product of the NBA Academy in India before moving to the NBA's Global Academy in Canberra, Australia. He was signed up by the G-League's developmental side in July 2020.

He will be looking forward to improving his performances and get more points under his belt to help his side win more often.
