Asia's double sprint queen Veronica Shanti Pereira and 2021 world champion shuttler Loh Kean Yew are among the star names leading the Singapore team at the 19th Asian Games.
From 23 September to 8 October 2023, Singapore will be represented in Hangzhou, People's Republic of China by a total of 431 athletes, the largest delegation Singapore has sent to an Asiad.

How many times has Singapore taken part in the Asian Games?
Hangzhou 2022 is the 19th Asian Games, and Singapore is one of seven countries to have participated in all 18 editions of the Games to date, alongside Indonesia, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Thailand.
It made its debut at New Delhi 1951, one of just 11 countries taking part in that inaugural Games.
Singapore has also taken part in two Asian Winter Games, all six Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, and all five Asian Beach Games to date.
What’s Singapore’s biggest medal tally at the Asian Games?
Singapore achieved their highest medal tally at the 2006 Asian Games in Doha, when the team came home with 27 medals (8 gold, 7 silver, 12 bronze).
That also happens to be the country's best return in terms of gold medals.
Singapore have won a total of 216 medals (42 golds) since the inaugural Asian Games.
The country has traditionally won medals in sailing, which has provided 14 of its 42 golds, and swimming (12 golds).
What was Singapore’s medal tally at Asian Games 2018?
The 2018 Asian Games took place in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, with the Singapore contingent consisting of 265 athletes.
Singapore returned home with 22 medals: 4 gold, 4 silver, and 14 bronze.
Joseph Schooling won two gold and two bronze at that event, the only Singaporean athlete with multiple gold medals.
This year, with a record 431 athletes, the "red dot" will aim to set a new record for medals.
