Malaysia's badminton star Lee Zii Jia returns to individual singles action on the BWF World Tour this week at the 2024 Toyota Thailand Open, running in Bangkok from 14 to 19 May with the final rounds live on Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the official Olympics app (territorial restrictions may apply).
The world number 10 is seeded sixth in the Thai capital, and is looking for his first individual semi-final at a World Tour event this year having reached three quarter-finals.
Unseeded opponents await in the first and second round after a re-draw due to withdrawals.
Should Lee make it to the quarter-finals, the hosts' world number 47 Kantaphon Wangcharoen, Japan's Watanabe Koki, or Lu Guangzu of People's Republic of China await. The other seeds in his half of the draw that Lee could face in a potential semi-final are eighth seed Chou Tien-chen of Chinese Taipei and Japanese world number five Naraoka Kodai, the second seed.
