Hockey India League 2024-25 teams and players list - all squads

The Hockey India League 2024-25 auction in New Delhi witnessed eight men’s teams and four women’s teams engage in intense bidding to fill their squads with top-quality players from October 13 to 15.

The Hockey India League (HIL) men’s auctions saw over 550 men’s hockey players up for grabs - 400 Indians and 150 internationals - on the first two days while the auction for the women’s squads took place on the final day.

On the first day of the auction, Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh emerged as the most top pick and was eventually snapped by Punjab franchise Soorma Hockey Club. Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers acquired Abhishek while UP Rudras added Hardik Singh to the roster.

Amit Rohidas headed to Tamil Nadu Dragons and Jugraj Singh to Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers.

Each franchise built a 24-player squad, consisting of at least 16 Indian hockey players (with a mandatory inclusion of four junior players) and eight international stars.

The overseas goalkeepers were in high demand in the men’s auction with Ireland's David Harte going to Tamil Nadu Dragons, Germany's Jean-Paul Danneberg to Hyderabad Toofans and the Netherlands' Pirmin Blaak to Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers.

However, several overseas players pulled out ahead of the tournament due to injuries and scheduling issues, including Jean-Paul Danneberg and ' Pirmin Blaak.

Belgium's Vincent Vanasch went to Soorma Hockey Club while India’s Krishan Bahadur Pathak went to Kalinga Lancers.

Among overseas players, Kalinga Lancers added the Dutch Olympic gold medal-winning captain Thierry Brinkman to their squad and also acquired the services of Belgian legend Arthur Van Doren.

During the women's auction, Udita was snapped up by Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers, while Dutch star Yibbi Jansen joined Odisha Warriors.

Shrachi Rarh Bengal Tigers also secured Indian talents Lalremsiami while Sangita Kumari headed to Delhi SG Pipers. Soorma Hockey Club made key acquisitions with Indian captain Savita Punia and Salima Tete, while Delhi SG Pipers also bagged Navneet Kaur.

Both the men’s and women’s competitions will run simultaneously during the window exclusively reserved for the HIL by the International Hockey Federation (FIH), ensuring the availability of the top foreign players.

The HIL 2024-25 season will be held from December 28 to February 1, featuring eight men’s and four women’s teams. The matches will be played across two venues - Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium in Ranchi, Jharkhand and Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium in Rourkela, Odisha.
