Olympic all-around champions Hashimoto Daiki and Uchimura Kohei are among the 10 gymnasts slated to compete at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships later this year, according to the Japanese Gymnastics Federation.

The event is scheduled for Kitakyushu, Japan, from 18-24 October.

In addition to Hashimoto and Uchimura, the men's roster will include Kaya Kazuma who also a member of the team that won silver in Tokyo. Yonekura Hidenobu, Minami Kazuki, and Asato Keisuke complete Japan's men's roster.

2020 Olympic floor bronze medallist Murakami Mai headlines the team's women's roster. Olympians Ashikawa Urara, Hatakeda Hitomi, and Hiraiwa Yuna were also named to the squad.

Hashimoto will enter the event with lofty goals.

"I’d like to win there and become a world champion like Uchimura Kohei," he told Olympics.com days after winning his second Olympic gold medal. "And I hope when people think of a gymnastics champion, I want them to think of Hashimoto Daiki. That would be my goal."

Dalaloyan, Melnikova and Listunova to resume training

In addition to Japan's squad, Russian national team coach Valentina Rodionenko says several of ROC's Olympic champions including 2018 World all-around champion Artur Dalaloyan will resume training shortly in anticipation of the event, according to TASS.

"Our Olympic champions Angelina Melnikova, Vladislava Urazova and Viktoria Listunova will also come to the national training center," said Rodionenko.

They are scheduled to arrive 22 August, according to the coach. Dalaloyan's Olympic teammates Nikita Nagornyy, David Belyavsky and Denis Ablyazin have yet to confirm their intention to participate, said Rodionenko.
