The schedule for Tokyo 2020 has been confirmed, venues announced and while athletes around the world are busy gearing up to qualify for the greatest show on Earth, it's time to enjoy 16 days full of the most unforgettable, inspiring and exciting memories from the past as preparations for Tokyo 2020 gather pace!

Athens 2004 men's judo -60kg final:

This final represented a historic moment for judo in the Olympics. Back-to-back Olympic champion NOMURA Tadahiro (Japan) won his third Olympic final, becoming the first and only three-time Olympic champion in the sport’s history. Nobody has achieved that feat again. Although, perhaps Teddy Riner (+100kg) will, when he competes at Tokyo 2020?

Together with his compatriot YOSHIDA Saori - herself a three-time Olympic wrestling champion - Nomura lit the Olympic flame during the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Flame Arrival Ceremony on 20 March, 2020.
