The Carlos Alcaraz vs Alexander Zverev French Open 2024 tennis men’s singles final is scheduled to start at 6:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST) on June 9, Sunday. Watch live streaming and telecast in India.

Both Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev will be appearing in the final of the French Open for the first time in their careers. Both of them had reached the semi-final stage of the competition last year.

At only 21, Alcaraz has become the youngest player to reach the final of a Grand Slam on all three types of tennis courts - hard, grass and clay.

The Spaniard came back from behind to beat Jannik Sinner of Italy 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in a marathon semi-final clash, which lasted over four hours.

Alcaraz, second in the ATP tennis rankings, is already a two-time Grand Slam champion, having won the US Open in 2022 and the Wimbledon title in 2023. Earlier this year, he reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open and won the Indian Wells ATP Masters 1000 title.

World No. 4 Alexander Zverev, meanwhile, has reached the final of the French Open for the first time after making it to the semi-finals in each of the last three editions at Roland Garros.

Zverev beat Casper Ruud of Norway 2-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals this time to set up the second Grand Slam final of his career.

The last time he reached a Grand Slam final was in 2020 when he lost to Austrian player Dominic Thiem 2–6, 4–6, 6–4, 6–3, 7–6 in the US Open men’s singles title decider.

The two tennis players have met twice this year. While Zverev won the Australian Open 2024 quarter-finals, Alcaraz took the top eight win at the Indian Wells.

They have met each other in the final of a competition only once before. On that occasion, Alcaraz had the last laugh in the Madrid Open 2022 finale.

In the women’s singles final at the French Open 2024, three-time Roland Garros champion and world No. 1 Iga Swiatek of Poland will play Italian 12th seed Jasmine Paolini of Italy. The Swiatek vs Paolini women’s singles final is scheduled at 6:30 PM in India on Saturday.
