The 10-episode series, starting on Saturday, will provide a peek into the lifestyle of India's sporting heroes. Sumit Antil and Nitu Ghanghas will also be in the spotlight.
India’s javelin throw ace Neeraj Chopra and para archer Sheetal Devi will feature in the Fit India Champions podcast series starting on Saturday.
Hosted by Ekta Vishnoi, a former powerlifter and the Mission Director of Fit India, the podcast series will have 10 episodes on fitness and lifestyle with some of India’s top sporting icons.
The opening episode of the series on Saturday will feature compound para archer Sheetal Devi.
Sheetal is the only active female international archer to shoot without arms and is expected to spearhead India’s challenge at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. She won the gold medal on debut at the Asian Para Games and a silver medal at the World Para Archery Championships last year.
The second episode of the podcast series, to be aired on February 10, will feature Neeraj Chopra, the world and Olympic champion in javelin throw. Chopra is considered one of the fittest athletes today despite having fought obesity as a child. He follows a strict diet and discipline to maintain his fitness and will look to defend his title at the Paris 2024 Olympics later this year.
The episodes will be released every second and fourth Saturday. Tokyo Paralympics gold medalist Sumit Antil and world champion boxer Nitu Ghanghas are also on the guest list.
The Fit India Champions podcast series is part of the Indian sports ministry’s Fit India Movement. The movement was launched in 2019 to encourage people to adopt a healthy lifestyle through several initiatives and campaigns.
