Kagiyama Yuma, Sakamoto Kaori headline Japan's team for 2025 Figure Skating Worlds in Boston

The Japan Skating Federation named their squad for the 24-30 March ISU World Figure Skating Championships following the completion of the Japanese nationals in Osaka.

Japanese nationals champions Kagiyama Yuma and Sakamoto Kaori spearhead the country’s squad for next year’s ISU World Figure Skating Championships, announced by the Japan Skating Federation on Sunday (22 December).

Kagiyama will be joined in the men’s singles at the 24-30 March competition in Boston by Sato Shun and Tsuboi Tatsuya. The women’s skaters apart from Sakamoto are Chiba Mone and Higuchi Wakaba.

Former world champions Miura Riku/Kihara Ryuichi, Nagaoka Yuna/Moriguchi Sumitada and Shimizu Sae/Honda Lucas Tsuyoshi were named for the pairs event.

Ice dancers Yoshida Utana and Morita Masaya were selected following the completion of the Japan Figure Skating Championships on Sunday.
