Excerpts of new Alina Zagitova program teased by team

Team Tutberidze shared parts of what they call the Olympic champion's new program, which will be debuted in a gala exhibition next month, on Instagram.

Olympic champion Alina Zagitova may not currently be competing, but the figure skater is continuing to work on the ice.

The team at her Sambo-70 skating club under Eteri Tutberidze gave a timely reminder of that after teasing sections of what they call a new program for the 18-year-old.

Set to music from the musical Notre-Dame de Paris, the routine will be debuted at an exhibition gala skate from 6–7 November in Moscow's CSKA Arena.

The new video comes only a few days after the Russian Figure Skating Federation confirmed a TASS report that the PyeongChang 2018 gold medallist would not compete again before 2021, extending her competitive break over a year.

Zagitova is currently focussed on hosting Russian skating reality show Ice Age alongside fellow Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin, and has not competed since finishing sixth at last December's Grand Prix Final in Turin.

Her absence from the domestic Cup of Russia series, and therefore December's upcoming national championships, would seem to rule her out of January's European Championships and March's World Championships, as Russia normally selects its team based on results at the nationals.
