Everything you need to know about breaking at the Youth Olympic Games

Breaking
The world’s top young b-boys and b-girls will do battle as breaking makes its Youth Olympic Games debut.
Athletes submitted videos of themselves online, with the winners being selected for the World Youth Breaking Championships in Japan.
Breaking's fusion of sport and urban culture makes it a perfect fit for YOG, which seeks to increase engagement and inclusion with the youth audience around the world.
With two top international DJs providing the tunes there is sure to be a competitive but festive atmosphere in Buenos Aires.
Breaking basics
There will be 12 b-boys and 12 b-girls will doing battle in separate competitions, as well as a mixed event.
In the individual competitions two breakers will go head to head, where one will perform first and then their opponent will respond.
The dancers' battles will be scored by five judges on six criteria: Creativity, personality, technique, variety, performativity and musicality.
Something interesting
Also keep an eye on the exciting mixed event, where one boy and one girl will be paired together based on their individual event ranking.

Breaking will take place in the Urban Park’s Parque Mujeres Argentinas.
