Chiara Pellacani won a dramatic women's 3m springboard diving final at the 2023 European Games in Poland on Sunday (25 June).
Just two points separated the top three going into the fifth and final round, with Swiss diver Michelle Heimberg a quarter of a point ahead of the Italian and Sweden's Emilia Nilsson close behind in third.
But Heimberg over-rotated on her final dive and Pellacani, who won the European title in Rome last year, took full advantage to take gold and clinch a quota place for Italy at Olympic Games Paris 2024.
Nilsson moved up for silver with Heimberg having to settle for bronze.
Britain's two-time world medallist and top qualifier Grace Reid led after two rounds but struggled on her next two dives and could only finish in fifth place.
