Commonwealth Youth Games 2023 medal tally: Indian winners - full list

India won five medals - two silver and three bronze - and finished 17th in the medals table at Trinbago 2023. Four medals came in athletics and one in swimming.

A 24-member Indian contingent, including runner Bapi Hansda and swimmer Vedaant Madhavan, competed at the Commonwealth Youth Games 2023 from August 5 to 11 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.

Over 1,000 athletes from 71 Commonwealth nations and territories participated in the seventh edition of the Commonwealth Youth Games.

Medals were offered in seven sports - athletics, beach volleyball, cycling, netball fast 5, rugby sevens, swimming and triathlon at Trinbago 2023. India, however, only fielded sportspersons in cycling, triathlon, swimming and athletics.

The Indian contingent comprised an eight-member athletics team, six each in cycling and swimming and four in triathlon, with an equal split of men and women in each squad.

The multi-sport meet, meant only for under-18 athletes, started in 2000 and made a return after six years.

India are the fourth-most successful country in Commonwealth Youth Games history with 130 medals - 51 gold, 40 silver and 39 bronze. Australia, England and South Africa occupy the top three spots.

Some of India’s top sports stars, including double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu, have featured in the Commonwealth Youth Games in the past.
