The third ICU Pan American and Copa Americana Cheerleading Championships are headed to Santiago, Chile, this week, and fans around the world can stream the competition on Olympics.com.

With action set to get underway Thursday (29 September), here's everything you need to know to follow the action through the weekend, including stars to watch, a complete schedule and how to watch.

Stars to watch – 2022 ICU Pan American and Copa Americana Cheerleading Championships

The competition at ICU Pan American Championships features national teams from 11 countries, while Copa Americana competition will see action from individual clubs and gyms from around the Americas.

At the 2019 edition of the Pan American Championships, held in Costa Rica, Mexico dominated the competition, winning 12 golds, one silver and one bronze for a total of 14 medals. Host Costa Rica was second in the medal table with eight overall, while Canada rounded out the top three with six medals.

The United States, which have been a perennial power in the sport, won two gold medals in 2019. They will still be ones to watch in Santiago.

Earlier this year at the ICU Word Championships in Florida, Team USA won 16 gold medals. Mexico, Canada and Ecuador were the only other Pan American nations to grab a gold medal at the event, with each taking home one each.

The Pan American Championships age divisions are as follows:

  • Youth: 12 to 14 years old within the year of the event
  • Junior: 15 to 18 years old within the year of the event
  • Senior: 16+ within the year of the event
