Malaysia's badminton star Lee Zii Jia is back in action this week at the Korea Masters 2023.

After his win at the Arctic Open and his final appearance at the Denmark Open, the world No. 11 will be hoping to continue his recent good form back in Asia.

In the first round in the Republic of Korea, Lee is set to face two-time world champion Momota Kento of Japan.

Momota, currently ranked No. 52 in the world, has not played since the Australia Open in August, where he lost his first round encounter to Jonatan Christie.

The unseeded Japanse was selected to play at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, but he had to pull out due to injury.

Lee will be aiming to earn more crucial qualifying points in Gwangju for Paris 2024, thus improving his chances of representing Malaysia in the French capital next year.

Should the second seeded Lee advance to round two, he would face the winner of the match between Kai Schaefer of Germany and Spain's Luis Enrique Peñalver.

The Korea Masters runs from 7-12 November, and will be broadcast live on Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the official Olympics app (territorial restrictions may apply).
