Day three of boxing at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games packed a punch.
The men's super heavyweight division sprung into action for the first time at the Games. There were decisive wins for India's Sagar Ahlwat and Trinidadian Nigel Paul who both cleaned up with unanimous victories to proceed to the last eight.
India also had a star performer in Zareen Nikhat who was relentless in her opening round bout in the women's light fly. The referee was forced to intervene in the third round in Nikhat's clash with Mozambique's Helena Ismael Bagao underlining her dominance.
2018 light welterweight champ Jonas Junias Jonas of Namibia continued strongly in his title defence unanimously beating Bahamian Rashield Williams.
England's boxers continued to pick up wins across the board in what has so far been a strong showing for the host nation.
Wyatt Sandford and Joseph Tyers both booked their berths into the men's light welterweight final eight while middleweight Lewis Richardson won on split decision (4-1) over Yusuf Nkobeza of Uganda.
