Boxer Neeraj Goyat: Farhan Akhtar has gone extreme limits to do justice to 'Toofan'
The professional boxer has acted in the movie and has also trained Farhan during the course of the film
After Bhaag Milkha Bhaag where he portrayed the legendary Milkha Singh, Farhan Akhtar will once again be seen in a sports drama, this time as a boxer in his upcoming film called Toofan which is set to release on July 16.
The actor, known to be meticulous in his preparations for such roles, has already posted several pictures of him training on social media to give a glimpse of his character and they have been well received by the audience.
The film has been directed by Rang De Basanti fame director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and also stars Paresh Rawal in the film, playing the role of the coach.
Akhar has been trained by professional boxer Neeraj Goyat for this venture. Goyat has fought 17 bouts in the professional circuit and has won 12 of them. He is also going to play a role in the movie.
"Farhan is a very simple, passionate, and humble guy. He can go to any limit to do justice to the character. You watched him in Bhag Milkha Bhag and now in Toofan, you will see another side of him. I think he is better and fitter in Toofan. It feels good to be working with such hard-working passionate people. I am doing a fight in this film," he told the Olympics.com.
While training the actor, he also shared some boxing philosophies as well to help portray the character of Toofan better in the film.
"I told him that in boxing you have to get punched even if you win in the end. So the trick is you have to hit and not get hit. Farhan has defied his age in the movie and would train in spite of getting exhausted to ensure perfection. He would ask me if his punches are going right, such is his humility. I spent around two months with him and had a wonderful time while training and choreography," he added.
The athlete has also acted in Mukkabaaz, another feature film on boxing, directed by Anurag Kashyap.
Goyat is currently in Italy where he is helping India's Tokyo-bound boxer Vikas Krishan in his preparations. The duo share a close bond and it was after his suggestion that Krishan dropped his weight category to 69kg from his usual 75kg.
