This year’s Diamond League season has once again been a thriller, with the world’s track & field stars bringing their best to the table in the battle to prove who really are 2023's greatest.

While there have been stellar showings at every meet, some athletes have risen to the top of the pile with the best performances of the 2023 season.

Four world records have been set this year at Diamond League meets - with three in events that will take place in next year's Olympic Games Paris 2024.

Kenya's Faith Kipyegon achieved two of those records in consecutive weeks, in the women's 1500m and 5000m, while Ethiopia's Lamecha Girma was the other newly crowned world record holder after breaking both the 3000m steeplechase record and the non-Olympic 3000m.

With just two meets left to take place - in Brussels on 8 September and the finals in Eugene on 16-17 September, here are the greatest Olympic discipline performances of 2023.
