Malaysia's badminton star Lee Zii Jia is hoping to continue his good form at the BWF Denmark Open 2023 following his first World Tour title in 17 months at the Arctic Open.
Lee is set to face India's Priyanshu Rajawat, currently ranked No. 30 in the world, in the first round of the men's singles draw.
The tournament in Odense, Denmark, runs from 17-22 October, and will be broadcast live on Olympic Channel via Olympics.com and the official Olympics app (territorial restrictions may apply).
World No. 14 Lee has had an inconsistent season, experiencing five first round exits.
However, he is entering the tournament in Denmark fresh off a title win on Sunday, defeating his compatriot Ng Tze Yong in the final of the 2023 Arctic Open with a score of 21-14, 21-15.
At the Denmark Open, Lee will be aiming to earn more crucial qualifying points for Paris 2024, thus improving his chances of representing Malaysia in the French capital next year.
Should the unseeded Lee advance to round two, he will likely face Olympic champion and world number one Viktor Axelsen.
