PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen will spearhead the Indian challenge at the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships 2023, which will be held at Dubai Exhibition Centre, UAE, from February 14 to 19.
India have already named a 14-member team for the Dubai meet.

Former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth misses out with reigning Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya Sen and the in-form HS Prannoy taking up the two spots in men’s singles. Srikanth has struggled for form in recent months.
Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, one half of India’s top-ranked men’s doubles team, will also miss the tournament with injury. In his absence, Dhruv Kapila has been drafted in the team to pair up with Satwik’s regular partner Chirag Shetty.
India have been drawn in Group B of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships 2023 alongside Malaysia, UAE and Kazakhstan. Defending champions China are in Group A with South Korea. The tournament will be live streamed in India.

After a single-headed round robin group stage, the top two teams from each group will make the quarter-finals. At the last edition, held in Hong Kong back in 2019, India had failed to make it beyond the group stages.
The Indian team, however, did make the quarters at the inaugural edition in 2017. The 2021 Badminton Mixed Team Championships was cancelled due to COVID-19.

The Badminton Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships 2023 will be telecast live on the Sony Sports TEN 2 and Sony Sports TEN 2 HD TV channels in India from February 17.
Live streaming of the Badminton Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships 2023 will also be available on the SonyLIV platform and website.
India start their campaign against Kazakhstan on February 14 followed by a clash against hosts UAE. The quarter-finals will be played on February 17, the semi-finals on February 18 and the final on February 19.
